1998 - 2000
In the brewery Palm, where the network was simmilar but five times as big. Instead of an AS400, we had an Data General AVIION -system with Unix as operating system and Cobol programming. Six NT-servers managed a network of about 100 PC's. File-sharing, E-mail, printing, databases, everything was network-based.
Since brewery Palm  took over Rodenbach, I remotely managed the network in Roeselare with PcAnywhere. We configured the network in Palm NV (Steenhuffel) to be linked with the network in Rodenbach (Roeselare) and with Palm BV (Raamsdonkveer, Nederland) by 3Com routers that used ISDN dial-up connections (Incredible at the time).
1997 - 1998
In 1997, I had the opportunity of building an ethernet network inside the brewery Rodenbach. The Windows NT4 based network was managed by a Compaq ProLiant 2500 and supported with a ProLiant 800 as databaseserver, while the specific brewery software ran on an IBM AS400 . From time to time, the personal computers were evaluated and new ones are bought, resulting in just about every type of computers from different brands. You can imagine the fun in bringing them all together in one network...
